I'm Unable to Access my CameraUpdated a month ago

Our cameras are generally plug-and-play, so this isn't something you should normally run into.

Before troubleshooting further, please make sure your iContact Camera is plugged directly into your computer (not through a USB hub, dock, or adapter) and that the camera arm is fully swiveled downward into its operating position, as shown below.

If your iContact Camera still isn't appearing as an option in your video call app, try the following steps:

Mac:

  1. Click the Apple icon → About This Mac → System Report → Camera.
  2. If your iContact Camera isn’t listed, try an SMC reset.

PC (Windows):

  1. Open Device Manager → Look under Cameras, Imaging Devices, or Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
  2. If not listed, go to Action → Scan for Hardware Changes.
  3. Restart and test using the Camera app.
  4. Make sure Windows is updated. Microsoft offers camera troubleshooting guides.
  5. Disable USB power-saving settings that may disable your camera.

USB connection tips:

  • Ensure the camera is firmly connected to your computer’s USB port.
  • Avoid USB hubs or extensions; try plugging directly into your computer.
  • Remove other devices from hubs if necessary. Some hubs can overload or fail.
